The best bird nest hanging basket depends on whether you need a resting spot for a pet bird or a woven shelter for outdoor birds. Hypeety is best for pet birds that enjoy chewing and playing, while Lolytama offers a compact resting hammock with a mesh base. For outdoor use, GUTE provides handwoven grass nests, and CONGARTENO is described as weather-resistant. Barn Eleven is a simple rattan swing option in two sizes.

Hypeety Natural Straw Bird Nest Bed
This handwoven straw nest bed combines a resting area with a swing-style toy and bells. Its listed dimensions are 11.81 by 8.66 by 2.16 inches. The product is described as suitable for cockatiels, conures, and parakeets, and as a toy for biting and play.
Best for: Pet-bird owners looking for a natural-material activity item as well as a place to perch. It was selected for its stated play features and relatively generous listed length. The listing also says nests may encourage courtship, breeding, and nesting behaviors, so avoid this style if you do not want to encourage those behaviors. Check the dimensions against your bird and cage before choosing.
Lolytama Compact Bird Nest Hammock
Lolytama’s handwoven hammock has a breathable mesh base and measures 5.91 by 1.57 inches, according to the listing. It is intended for small birds such as parakeets, budgies, cockatiels, lovebirds, and finches. The compact design can leave more room for other cage accessories than a larger nest bed.
Best for: Owners seeking a small hanging resting spot or added perch area for a small bird. The mesh base is a distinguishing feature for buyers who prioritize an open, ventilated resting surface. Because the listed dimensions are compact, check that the usable space suits your bird; it may not be the right choice when a larger resting area is needed.
GUTE Three-Piece Handwoven Grass Nests
This set contains three hanging nests made from natural hibiscus grass. The listing describes a water-drop shape, handwoven fibers, and ventilation. Each nest is approximately 4.7 by 4.7 by 9.4 inches, with an entrance about 1.6 by 2 inches.
Best for: Buyers looking for multiple small woven nests for an outdoor setting. The set format and natural grass construction make it a relevant choice for those who prefer a traditional hanging nest appearance. The listing does not specify weather resistance, so consider a sheltered location and inspect the material periodically if the nests are exposed to rain or sun. Confirm that the entrance suits the birds you hope to attract.
CONGARTENO Two-Piece Woven Nests
CONGARTENO offers two handwoven grass nests intended for outdoor use. The product description calls them sturdy and weatherproof, and says they are made to resist rain and sunlight. The listing emphasizes a naturalistic design and suitability as a resting place for birds.
Best for: Buyers who want a two-nest set for a patio or backyard and value the product’s stated outdoor-focused construction. This option was selected because its description specifically addresses weather exposure. The provided details do not include dimensions, so confirm the size with the seller’s listing before buying, particularly if you need a nest for a particular bird size or mounting location.
Barn Eleven Natural Rattan Bird Nest
This rattan nest is designed as a bird swing and perch for a range of listed pet birds. The product comes in small and large sizes: the small diameter is 5.12 inches, and the large diameter is 8.66 inches. The listing describes the rattan as chew-resistant and the design as suitable for cage use.
Best for: Owners who want a natural-looking swing and need a choice of two diameters. The large version may better suit buyers seeking a wider perch area, while the small size can suit a more compact setup. Since the listing offers size options, confirm which size you are selecting and whether it fits your bird’s cage.
Buying Guide: How to Choose a Bird Nest Hanging Basket
Is the basket for a pet bird or outdoor birds?
Start with the intended setting. Pet-bird products in this list are described as cage accessories, swings, or resting beds. Outdoor options are woven grass nests marketed for hanging outside. Do not assume a cage hammock is suitable as an outdoor shelter, or that an outdoor nest has features intended for a pet bird’s daily use.
What dimensions and opening size should you check?
Compare the product’s measurements with your available space and the bird’s size. Small hanging products can preserve cage room but may provide less resting area. For outdoor nests, check the entrance dimensions when available. Some listings provide complete measurements, while others do not, so verify missing details before purchasing.
Which material and features matter?
Choose based on the intended use: straw and rattan provide a woven texture, while Lolytama’s mesh base offers an open resting surface. Bells and chew-oriented features may add activity for pet birds. For outdoor placement, look for clear weather-resistance information and consider exposure to rain and sun.
Can a hanging nest encourage nesting behavior?
Some nest-style products may encourage courtship or nesting behavior. Hypeety’s listing explicitly mentions this possibility. Consider that feature when deciding whether a nest-shaped accessory is appropriate for your bird’s setup.
